Steady business growth occurred throughout the 1900s under the leadership of third generation grower, Clarence Corrigan.  Clarence was well known for producing quality vegetables and came to prominence through a contract to ensure Australian Army troops during World War 2 received fresh vegetables, including carrots wrapped in hessian bags to keep them fresh.

 

Clarence’s son, Geoff Corrigan, took over the business in the 1960s and moved the operations to Clyde, Victoria.  Geoff made horticultural history with his unique brand of celery that could be grown all year round, tapping into a rich new consumer market.  Rapid business growth was achieved under Geoff’s stewardship, setting the stage for his children Deborah, Darren and Stephen. All three grew up on the family farm and developed a passion for farming and fresh produce.

 

‘Like my father and grandfather, I’ve spent my life growing vegetables—farming is in my blood.  I’m proud of our heritage and aim to carry on producing the best possible vegetables, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation,’ says Darren.

 

Today, 5th generation Deborah and Darren own and manage the business.  The duo expanded operations in 2010, with the purchase of another farm in Devon Meadows. Also working on these farms Corrigan's now have the 6th generation learning the family legacy.
